A Romantic Backyard Indian Wedding in Rural Auckland.

Aakansha and James’ wedding celebration combined their European and Indian cultures in an intimate setting.

The mehndi (henna party) and Hindu ceremony took place in the bride’s beautiful backyard garden at their rural Auckland home for 150 guests.

We created a bangle bar filled with bright bangles, colourful scented mehndi candles, bindis for guests as favours. It was one of the many interactive displays throughout the evening.

This tent was later flipped to serve as a wedding venue that took place on the south side of the garden near the creek on the bride’s family property. The Hindu ceremony took place in a shaded area of their yard with lush white and gold coloured Mandap with 100+ hand strung roses that looked as if they were floating in mid-air!

To fit with their modern romance theme, the mandap decor features two hand-tied floral arrangements of blush-hued blooms. Guests sat at white washed chairs and the aisle included a white carpet with red flower petals.

In lieu of a bridal bouquet we created a luxe rose Jaimala that complemented the colours of the bride and groom’s wedding outfits, this piece has become one of our most requested bridal accessories and looks more and more beautiful each time!
